Delete your ZUVVA account

Two ways to delete your account — in-app for instant control, or by email if you can no longer sign in.

Option 1 — In the ZUVVA app (recommended)

If you can still sign in to the ZUVVA app, this is the fastest and most complete path. You stay in control of the timing and you see the audit trail.

  1. Open ZUVVA on your phone.
  2. Tap You (bottom-right tab) → Settings.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
  4. Confirm with the simple math captcha and your OTP.

Your account immediately enters a 30-day grace period — you can sign in within that window to cancel the deletion. After 30 days the data is hard-purged.

Option 2 — By email (if you cannot sign in)

If you have uninstalled the app, lost access to your registered phone number, or otherwise cannot complete the in-app flow, email us:

To: support@zuvva.in
Subject: Delete my ZUVVA account

Include in the email body:

  • The phone number registered with ZUVVA (with country code, e.g. +919999999999)
  • Your full name as it appears on the account (if you remember it)
  • The approximate date you joined (helps us match the right account if multiple people share the number)
  • The reason for deletion (optional — helps us improve)

We'll verify your identity (typically via a one-time code sent to the phone number on file) and process the deletion within 7 business days. After verification, the same 30-day grace period applies.

What gets deleted

After the 30-day grace period:

  • Your profile (name, photo, city, profession, bio, etc.)
  • Your contact list and your trust-graph edges
  • Your chat messages (your copy; recipients keep theirs)
  • Your billboard posts and circle memberships
  • Your phone number, hashed phone, and authentication tokens
  • Your device push tokens (so we stop sending notifications)
  • Any media you uploaded (avatar, billboard photos, chat attachments) is removed from our object storage

What is retained (and why)

A small set of records is kept after deletion, only where the law or platform integrity requires it:

  • Audit-log entries related to account creation, consent grants, and the deletion itself — retained for 180 days for security forensics and compliance audits, then purged.
  • Aggregated, non-identifying analytics (e.g., daily-active-user counts) — your individual contribution is already de-identified at collection time.
  • Transaction records required by Indian tax law (if you ever made a payment) — retained for the period mandated by statute (typically 8 years), with all personal identifiers minimised to what the tax authority requires.

Once the audit-log retention window expires, nothing identifying you remains in ZUVVA's systems.
